THE CARNAGE OF PRIEST-CRAFT by Patrick Rotcivz

The September 11th, 2001 terrorist carnage in the United States, and the series of suicide terror bombings, kidnappings, and barbaric killings of innocent people from the Middle East to the Philippines carried out by Islamic zealots and the likes of religionists are just events that add upon events accumulated in the brutal history of religion of mankind.

Religion, believed as the supreme and divine revelation of God to man by man, has proven once again that it has failed to bring peace to mankind to live with his neighbours in harmony. The carnage against humanity committed by zealots of religions throughout history is testimony of the failure of religions to be the saviour of mankind and made a mockery of the divine and supreme God in whose name the bloody brutality is committed.

The false fear of the sacredness of religion by the vast majority of people globally has prevented religion from being safeguarded and guided by common sense. Man has cowered before religion and is fearful and hesitant to challenge the authority of religion. Such fear of religious authority effectively prevents the modern man from honestly rejecting the clutches of religion and accepting the new light of reasoning, spirituality and morality.

Whether it is the mainstream orthodoxy or the diverse and “deviationists” splinter groups, religion is a discourse that is subject to interpretation or misinterpretation to suit the political, economic and social agenda of the priest-craft - those in the position of leadership, power or authority over the masses or groups of people. The practitioners of priest-craft includes the politicians, pope, cardinals, archbishops, priests, pastors, rabbis, mullahs, ayatollahs, ulamas, ustazs, and the likes of religionists - those who exploited and manipulated upon the fears or ignorance of the masses subtly or aggressively.

Being subjective and prone to diverse schools of interpretations and misinterpretations, religions are neither the perfect philosophy nor the divine spiritual teachings in the modern light of reasoning, science and technology. It is based purely on blind faith, usually indoctrinated from young to the rigid and compulsive adherence to societal norm, without proper investigation, and understanding of the circumstances of the history, historical evidence, traditions, folklore, superstitions and cultures from where it has evolved into the information age. Those who deny religion as a sacred revelation of God need not necessarily be atheists devoid of morality and spirituality and the belief in the infinite.

The mainstream religions including their diverse and “deviationists” splinters dichotomise the believer from the non-believer, proclaiming that it is the sole and only true teachings of the divine God, and that others are falsity or half truths. Those outside the mainstream of their religion are infidels destined to the burning fires of hell in eternal damnation. Thus, it is their ordained duties to convert the world and expand their hegemony over the globe. Crusades, jihads, inquisitions, witch hunts, and many forms of campaigns of terror and carnage against humanity were launched since the dawn of the history of religions to wage wars to conqueror and purify the world of evil and sin.

These acts of terrorism against humanity are about enmity, animosity, hatred and destruction of the infidel enemy - humanity at large, contrary to the religious propaganda and preaching of morality, righteousness, reasoning or sanity, love, mercy, and care. These acts justify their cause of self righteousness in expansionism and hegemony.

Are the torture, murder or burning of heretics, witches, and pagans way back in history justifiable? Are crusades against the infidel Moslems a just act for God’s cause? Are jihads equally justifiable in God’s name? Are Hudud laws which include the amputation of limbs of thieves, and the stoning to death of adulterers the divine laws of God and are morally correct?

Is torture and killing of another human being who does not share your religious belief right in the name of God, righteousness, morality?

History of religion is tainted with blood sanctioned and committed by the priest-craft and adherents be it the mainstream orthodoxy, or its diverse and deviant splinter groups.

Religious Rite before burning
The modern priest-craft of the mainstream religions of the world today will all sing in a concerted chorus that these are wrong and despicable acts against humanity and a mistake in history. The question is why have they changed their course now? Such changes in approach are necessary in the wake of the diminishing political power of the priest-craft from the historic theocratic kingdoms ruled by the royals and the church to a democratic secular state in the wake of the evolving state of mass consciousness into the modern era. Sadly, the relic of the past still lingers in certain modern societies today and the re-emergence of religious fundamentalists and purists is a contributory factor to the antagonism of cultures in this era. The September carnage is a manifestation of such antagonism.

Although the mainstream orthodox religions may have changed their approach to one of subtlety and sanity in the modern era, it has remained as a powerful and influential force that is deeply entrenched into the human psyche. Religion has created the most dangerous and divisive political, economic and social structure in the history of mankind. It is a time bomb ticking to explode in the course of time.

Religion is a tool of priest-craft to dominate. The carnage justifies the cause of priest-craft.
