A Wife's Prayer

Lord please keep me safe today,
I know my love could never survive without me
Who'd be there to fix his meals,
The exact way he likes them?
Who'd be there to listen to his hard day at work?
To hold his hand when his feelings had been hurt?
Who'd wash and fold his clothes,
And make sure they were put in the usual places?
Who'd sweep and mop the floor
So the sand does not irritate his bare feet?
Who'd be there to believe in him,
I'm the only one who knows how great he is?
Who'd be there to comfort his sorrow
When he's sad?
Who'd be there to help him celebrate
When his plans have been successful?
Who'd be there to give him medication
When he's sick?
Lord, please keep me safe today,
Not for my sake, but for his.
Lord, no one can love him as much as me
He needs me Lord
Without me he'd never survive
If I died his heart would break
No one could ever take my place
So Lord you see I'm not asking for just my life,
But also for the life of my man.
Lord please keep us both safe today!
