Angel Of The Heart

An Original Poem by ANGELBRNEYES

The angel flies high, looking down upon a perfect world
A smile of happiness on her beautiful face
Her pure white wings and gown sparkle in the sunlight
Long black hair glistening as the gentle breeze twirls it about
Dark brown eyes reflecting a world filled with love and trust
Suddenly her perfect world is shattered, a heart has been broken
As she crumples to the ground, tears pour from once happy eyes
Sparkling white gown caked with dirt and mud
Beautiful white wings torn apart and blowing away in all directions
Her beautiful body shaking uncontrollably with grieves
As the keeper of the precious gift of a heart, she has failed
No longer will she have the magic powers of love
Someone broke a heart today, and angel has to pay
She lies on the ground weeping, wondering how she could have let this happen
Entrusted with the precious gift of trust, belief, and honor
How could she let that heart be broken?
Why would someone think so little of the precious gift?
A heart given so freely asking only to be loved
Now angel must walk the earth no more magic powers,
No more beautiful white wings
She walks very slowly, shoulders slumped, head bowed
Sad brown eyes always moist with unshed tears
Unspoken words in those sad brown eyes begging,
Please, do not break a heart today!
