Pat's MIDI World's MIDI sequences are among the finest in the World Wide Web selected and archived for your ultimate listening pleasure. MIDI Music are not just arranged sound patterns for listening pleasure, for it has a deeper effect to stimulate the emotional self and inspire the soul from within.

What is MIDI?

MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. It is a protocol which enables computers, synthesizers and electronic musical instruments to create and playback music. Unlike other methods of recording audio, MIDI does not capture, store or transmit actual sounds. Instead, MIDI uses computer code to describe the specific steps that a sound card or other playback device must take to generate a specified sound via electronic synthesis. MIDI files are significantly smaller than other digital audio files (.wav, .au, .aiff, etc.), which makes them ideally suited for delivery on the web.

What do I need in order to listen to MIDI files?

To listen to these MIDI files, you must have sound card in your computer that supports MIDI playback. Most sound cards do support MIDI, as long as the proper software drivers are installed.

Since the inception of Pat's MIDI World, our site have been hosted in Angelfire, a web-hosting portal. Angelfire was a great portal until its acquisition by Lycos. Without due consideration to the our long standing relationship that has brought millions of visitors to our site, thus giving Angelfire the traffic for the enhancement their advertising revenue, our site was removed without due notice. Notwithstanding, we were not informed of the removal and therefore did not have the warning to back up our files. We have lost most of our archived MIDI files and webpages.

In an instant we have lost our all of our 5 labourious years of work building the our MIDI archive and the site for you.

This is the moral of commercialisation and profiteering without due regard to loyalty and responsibility. Lycos have their rights as they have set the terms of service, without giving recourse to those who supported their site since its early days.

We have since transferred to our new domain address at http://www.patricksuniverse.com where our site is hosted. We will be reconstructing all the webpages and the MIDI archive from scratch. Please have the patience, it will take some months in the reconstruction and recreation of our various sites in Patrick's Universe.
