SACRED MOMENT IN TIME

DEDICATED TO THE LOVING MEMORY OF JOHN YEO YAN KAI

As time ticks into the early hours of dawn of a new day, the 25th of August 1999, this very moment brings back the memory of the last few hours that you were with us before your passing - exactly a month ago. That precious last hours though painful and sad is a moment that I will treasure forever in this mortal lifetime.

At dawn of the 25th of July 1999, that precious moment when each of us in the family spoke our last words to you; when you uttered your last word: "Last Rite" and the Last Rite performed by Rev. Fr. Christopher Wee, and the final moment at 6.50 a.m. as you closed your eyes and breathe your last breath in our presence and left us forever - that is a sacred hour and a sacred bond of love that will remain in our hearts and memory forever.

This moment brings back the reflection of the last days you spent with us. The days of love and care, the last wisdom that you bestowed upon me that "the home and family is sacred" and your last wish that I return to the main stream church. This is a sacred bond of love.

The tradition that you have set for the family - the family council, the Christmas family reunion, and the love and care for each other, is a sacred bond of love that we inherit from you and we will maintain and inculcate this tradition on to our descendants.

Daddy, my love for you is immeasurable and eternal. I will be reunited with you again in spirit one day when it is my time to translate from this physical realm.

In honour and in loving memory of you, Daddy, I will dedicate the remaining episode of my life hereon to the achievement of the ideals and love that is expected of me. And I will uphold the integrity and name of the family that you will be proud of.
